  • 2024/02/01: Important communication: Monument to the memory of Laurent Levasseur and Marie Marchand
  • 2024/01/15: Toponymic chronicle – The Levasseur Inlet was named in honor of one of its officers, Paul LeVasseur. Paul was the brother of Dr. Irma LeVasseur. None of Nazaire LeVasseur and Férora Venner’s children had any descendants.
  • 2023/12/01: Reviving old photographs. You can now effortlessly repair scratched or damaged photos online, or
    create short videos from photos.
  • 2023/11/01: Coroners’ inquests from judicial districts of Québec, Beauce, Charlevoix, Montmagny and Thetford Mines 1824-1986. We found a few Levasseurs and Borgias in the registers..
  • 2023/10/01: Henri-Jean-Charles LeVasseur (1892-1968). More than 1,500 pages of typed research. Now available!

Later in 2024:

    • Toponymic places named “Levasseur” in Canada: LeVasseur Isle (Manitoba, CA). LeVasseur Isle was named in honor of Lucien Charles Levasseur, who died too young during the Second World War (Karen LeVasseur)
    • Transcription of the archives of the prison of Quebec City (period 1813-1907 and 1914) Some Levasseurs found in these records (Jean-Pierre Levasseur)

We would appreciate if you could send us family related documents that would add to our data base of archives and also enable us to continue the publication of the Levasseur Newsletter three times per year. The participation of the Levasseurs and members of their families is essential to allow us to pursue our mission. Send us your photos and texts for the next publication of the Newsletter. You can download them very easily with this new tool and by providing a brief description of the photo or text that is being sent. Following receipt of your documents, a copy of all information to be published in the Newsletter will be sent to you for approval prior to final publication.
