Our fundraising campaign is launched! We are at 22% of our goal. Follow this link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/monument-a-la-memoire-de-laurent-levasseur. We will report the contributions of our generous donors regularly in these articles. In the fall of 2023, the Levasseur Association of America inc. will be erecting a monument to the memory of Laurent Levasseur in the Domaine Etchemin park, on the banks of the river of the same name, in Lévis. Laurent Levasseur is the ancestor of the largest number of descendants in North America. He arrived in Canada in September of 1663. As soon as he arrived, he was hired by Guillemette Hébert, widow of Guillaume Couillard and daughter of Louis Hébert, the first Canadian settler. He remained at the employ of Guillemette Hébert for 2 three-year terms. With this project, the Levasseur Association of America  wishes to pay tribute to this pioneer and to perpetuate his memory for future generations. He certainly is a cause of pride for the Levasseurs as well as for the region of Lévis / Lauzon which Laurent Levasseur chose as his homeland.
