The next issue of the Levasseur Newsletter (May 2019) will focus on the story of Charles Levasseur. He was appointed to accompany Pierre Le Moyne, Sieur d’Iberville, in the establishment of the first permanent French colony in Louisiana. Charles Levasseur was born April 7, 1665 in Quebec City and is the son of Jean Levasseur said Lavigne (the first Levasseur to have established himself in New France) and Marguerite Richard.
